Quick Search vs Check for Match Results

Why am I getting different results when doing a Company Quick Search vs Check for Match?

The Quick Search works the same as Record Search while the Find Match or Check for Match works the same as Contact Search.

Example:
When you do a Record and Quick search for a Company with multiple Contacts – it will return 1 Record only.

When you do a Check for Match or Contact Search – it will return the number of Contacts associated with that Company.
