Outlook Sync FAQ

QUESTION
What is the process of the sync?  

ANSWER
– It compares the two calendars (default on Outlook if you have more than one) and keeps them identical.
– Email is synced only when you click the Log or Send & Log.

QUESTION
What exactly will happen to the Outlook data?

ANSWER
Existing Outlook data is unchanged.

QUESTION
Is there anyway to sync calendars and emails only and not contacts?

ANSWER
Yes, that’s the default configuration.

QUESTION
Is one a dominant over the other – Outlook versus LeadmasterCRM?

ANSWER
No, the software keeps them identical.

QUESTION
What is sync’ed when the force sync or hourly sync occurs?

ANSWER
Whatever is enabled, typically calendar.

QUESTION
If this is going to sync contacts then how do you prevent them from syncing all company contacts?

ANSWER
Use the ‘Mark Private’ feature in LeadMaster.

QUESTION
Does Outlook sync trigger workflow automation when adding a new record?

ANSWER
No, it currently does not support workflow automation as it is not part of the spec of the CRM Sync tool. 

QUESTION
What is the firewall port used by the CRMTool?

ANSWER
The CRMTool’s EndPointURL is: https://www.leadmaster.com/outlook/Default.asmx
That’s a secure connection (HTTPS) so it’s on port 443.
