WE'RE HERE TO HELP!

Can you please explain what a logon of User type = Global User is?

The Logon with “usertype = Global User” was developed to provide access to all records in a workgroup without being restricted based on assignment of the record.

Logons of “usertype = Global User” can be restricted by setting any of the following settings on the Internal Security screen of the logon:

  1. Campaigns – workgroup level – this restricts what the logon can see on the Search page and which records are allowed to be part of a search results query
  2. States – workgroup level –  this restricts what the logon can see on the Search page and which records are allowed to be part of a search results query
  3. Zip Codes – workgroup level – this restricts what the logon can see on the Search page and which records are allowed to be part of a search results query
  4. Countries – workgroup level – this restricts what the logon can see on the Search page and which records are allowed to be part of a search results query
  5. Limited Access to Records Using a Search Filter – logon level – this restricts the Search results the logon is returned when they do a Search

Note – this function only limits the search results, for the user, that fit the specific criteria set.  The results can be further refined thru the restrictions set for the first four items in this list.  This does not have any bearing on what a logon sees on the Search page.  It is strictly applied to Search results.
